Meet Dr. Mark Currington, Dallas Chiropractor
Meet Dr. Mark Currington, DC: a Lubbock native and Texas Tech and Parker University graduate with over 20 years of chiropractic care in Dallas.
If you're thinking about coming in, you probably want to know who you'll be seeing. Here's a little about Dr. Mark Currington, how he got here and how he approaches care.
From Lubbock to Dallas
Dr. Currington is a Texas native from Lubbock. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Biology at Texas Tech University, then his Doctorate of Chiropractic at Parker University.
He owns the clinic and has been in private practice for over 20 years, delivering hundreds of thousands of chiropractic adjustments along the way. He and his family, including three children, have called Dallas home for more than 25 years.
Treating the Cause
Dr. Currington believes treating the cause, beyond the symptom, is the best path to results that last. That's why care here starts with an exam and, when they're needed, X-rays. The point is to find what's behind your pain before deciding what to do about it.
From there, your plan might include chiropractic adjustments, physical rehab, massage or other therapies at the clinic. He adjusts by hand or with a specialized instrument, depending on your spine, your condition and your overall health.
Two Special Interests
Dr. Currington puts a special emphasis on two areas.
The first is Chiropractic Biophysics, or CBP, a method for moving the curves of your spine back toward their natural positions. X-rays and a posture analysis show the shape of your spine, and the plan pairs traction with adjustments, specific exercises and focused stretching. Follow-up X-rays show how your spine has changed, so you can see your progress for yourself.
The second is spinal decompression for disc problems like herniated and bulging discs. The clinic uses a Lordex Spinal Decompression Table and is part of the Disc Centers of America network. If you're curious how it works, we covered it in What Is Spinal Decompression, and Who Is It For?
What Patients Say
We'd rather let his patients describe him. The thing that comes up most in his Google reviews is listening.
“He sits down, listens to you and helps you with whatever problem you have going on.” (Jocelyn)
“Dr. Currington is so compassionate and really listens to your questions and concerns.” (Sharon F.)
“Dr C knows the human body & is willing to listen to you & help you.” (Lora S.)
One patient remembered something he told them at their first consultation, and put it in a review: “my goal is to get you well so you don’t have to keep seeing me.” (Kyrstin A.)
You can read the rest on our reviews page.
The People Around Him
You won't only see Dr. Currington. The clinic brings chiropractic, medical and massage care under one roof, and patients often mention the staff in their reviews too. Rose M. called them “always helpful and pleasant and friendly with everyone that come in.”
