Spinal Decompression
In Dallas, TX
Non-surgical care for herniated and bulging discs that can ease back pain, tingling and numbness.

What Decompression Is,
And How the Table Works
A specialized table gently stretches the spine to take pressure off a herniated or bulging disc.

A table that moves in two parts
The table has separate upper and lower sections. You are fitted with a harness that attaches to the lower section, and while you lie on the table, that section moves slowly to gently stretch the spine.
Guided by a computer program
A precise computer program, set up and supervised by one of our trained staff, runs each session. It alternates between gently stretching and relaxing the spine, which over time separates the vertebrae.
Draws the disc back in
Separating the vertebrae creates a vacuum-like effect that can pull bulging disc material back into the disc and off the nerves. It also lets fluid and nutrients flow back in to support healing.

The disc and nerve problems Dr. Currington treats with decompression. Every plan starts with an exam.
- Herniated DiscsDisc material pushed out of place, often pressing on a nerve.
- Bulging DiscsA disc that bulges outward and crowds the nerves nearby.

Why Patients Choose
Spinal Decompression
Dr. Currington has practiced for over 20 years, and the clinic is part of the Disc Centers of America network.
Non-surgical and drug-free
Many patients come in relying on medication to get through the day, and some have been told surgery is their only option. Decompression is a non-surgical, non-medicated treatment to try first.
Aimed at the disc itself
Decompression works on the source of the pain: a disc pressing on a nerve. Easing that pressure can relieve back pain and the sciatic pain that shoots down the leg.
A plan that fits your body
The computer program is set for your condition, and the rest of your plan, including the therapies paired with decompression, is customized to your specific needs.
Built around your comfort
The table moves slowly and stretches the spine gently. Decompression is a non-invasive treatment that puts your comfort first.
What to Expect
During Your Treatment
From the first exam to the last session, here is how a course of spinal decompression usually goes.
Evaluation
An exam of your back and your history, so Dr. Currington can confirm decompression fits your condition and build your plan.
Your Sessions
Fitted with a harness, you lie on the table while the computer-guided program gently stretches your spine. Each session usually lasts about 20 to 30 minutes.
A Few Times a Week
Patients usually come in a few times a week and typically finish within 8 to 12 weeks. Results build on each other and tend to show most from the middle of the plan on.
The Rest of Your Plan
Adjustments, core-strengthening exercises, soft tissue therapy and lifestyle changes support the disc as it heals and can lower the chance of another herniation.
