What is a subluxation?

An adjustment is a quick, controlled movement, by hand or with an instrument, that moves a vertebra back into place, and it is often without discomfort. Adjustments are safe for most people when a trained professional provides them, and Dr. Currington evaluates every patient first.

What is the popping sound during an adjustment?

It is called joint cavitation: the release of gases such as oxygen and nitrogen from the joint. It sounds like cracking your knuckles.

What happens at my first visit?

Your first visit is about getting to know each other. After a little paperwork, Dr. Currington goes over your history, your current condition and your goals, performs a physical exam and takes any X-rays needed. Then you build a plan together.

Only when they are needed to find the cause of your pain. For corrective care like Chiropractic Biophysics, X-rays show the shape of your spine and how it changes over time.
